What are Run Flat Tyres?
Run flat tyres rely on a reinforced sidewall to provide additional structure to the tyre. This prevents them from immediately collapsing should a puncture occur. The thicker sidewalls are more rigid and add structure compared to conventional wheels – even if there’s a sudden loss of air pressure.
Here are the rules: only drive on run-flat tyres for 50 miles or fewer and under 50 mph – it’s the 50-50 rule. We also advise fitting these tyres alongside a TPMS system to detect any drops in air pressure.

Are Run Flat Tyres a Good Choice?
Yes! Run-flat tyres reduce the risk of blowouts, flat tyres, and dangerous punctures. They’re the safest tyres on the road. Plus, being paired with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) means you’ll know when a puncture has occurred. Just book an appointment at your local DMH Tyres service centre to receive a replacement.
That being said, if a puncture occurs, we cannot repair the tyre as the reinforced structure prevents us from determining if the tyre is compromised.
