Questions we're frequently asked at DMH Tyres
Are winter or all-season tyres worth it around Widnes and the Mersey?
For most drivers here, all-season tyres are the sensible middle ground. We rarely get lasting snow this close to the estuary, but we do get months of cold, wet, salted roads and standing water on the A557 and the M62, and standard summer tyres harden and lose grip below about seven degrees. All-season rubber keeps its bite through that without the faff of swapping twice a year. Full winter tyres make more sense if you commute over higher ground toward Rainhill, St Helens or into the hills. Compare all season tyres and winter tyres, or ring the branch and tell us your weekly mileage.
